Physical Description

Barrel octagonal at the breech and ornamented with panels of flowers and scrollwork engraved and punched on a hatched ground originally gilt. Lock with similar decoration on the lock-plate, the cock and frizzen being plain. Stock with shoulder-butt elaborately decorated in the “Tschinke” style with stag-horn inlays of animals and monsters, the ground filled with scrolls and dots in stag-horn and with circular inlays of mother-of-peal. On each side of the butt is a camel with robed rider possibly intended for one of the Maei. Steel mounts, the trigger-guard decorated en-suite with lock and barrel.
