Physical Description

Comprises a circular domed top plate surmounted with two flower shaped washers and a conical plume tube cut with a pair of spiral lines. Attached to this is a band of mail made up from five rows of links that connects to a band of vertically arranged overlapping plates. The outer vertical edges of these plates are cut into lobes at the bottom but are straight at the top. Below these plates is another band of mail and a further row of plates having their edges cut in lobes. Attached to the lower edge of this skull are three identical sections made up from three columns of lobed plates joined by bands of mail that act as a neck guard and ear flaps. Finally, in front, hanging over the face when worn is a triangular section of mail.

Dimensions: The length of the helmet from the crown to the lower edge of the skull is 170 mm and the length of the flaps is 115 mm. Weight: The weight of the helmet is 0.8 kg.
