Physical Description

Barrel blued and octagonal at the breech where it is finely inlaid in gold with scrollwork and foliage, the monogram RPA surmounted by a ducal coronet and the inscription EN EIBAR ANO DE 1792. At the base of the breech are the gold stamps of the maker Juan Esteban Bustindui. Lock of Migulet type chiselled and gilt with masks and foliage, the lockplate bearing the maker’s stamp. Stock with short fore-end, the butt of “Madrid” form, the underside set with a steel plate inlaid with the name BUSTINDUI in gold. Silver mounts chased with animals and foliage.
