Notes

The 1916 Inventory states that this was presented by J. Hewitt Esq., c1860. However Hewitt's 1870 catalogue states that that author presented a 16th century goat's foot lever 'of steel gilt'. This does not seem to refer to this bending lever and more probably is a description of XI.25
