Physical Description

For small game, bent by hand. The light bow secured to the top of the tiller by vertical bow irons tightened by a bolt below. The tiller, roughly carved with lines of trefoils on its four sides is straight for most of its length then is concave in front of the action to clear the modern double cord. The action consists of a pivoted, hooked bar which retains the drawn cord and engages with a notch on the upper end of the trigger at the rear. Pressure on the trigger releases the lever which pivots to free the cord. The foresight pillars are missing, the backsight is a pivoted plate of inverted U-shape.
