Physical Description

10in or 13in mortar. It has no trunnions and fits into a rectangular brass bed. The latter has a central pivot and a ring at each corner for attachment of the ropes of the hand winches used in traversing. The letters AU are lightly stamped on the rear of the bed as on No.231
