Physical Description

High quality throughout with a flat-fronted, two-piece triggerguard. With gold lined raised pans and platinum bushed vents. The lockplate was once fitted with a lock safety, which is now missing and a swivel is located beneath the wrist. The stock has cheek piece, and blued furniture throughout. The breech bears the Royal Arms of Hanover, which is now missing and was thought to have originally have been in gold. Round barrels the over barrel is rifled and the under barrel smoothbore. The channels for the ramrod run down the right side, however the ramrod is missing. The patchbox is located on the stock with a stag as the central theme of engraving. A button situated on the top of the buttplate tang acts as the release mechanism. Fine chequering located on the wrist.
