Physical Description

Opening down the front, the jacket front is made up from two long columns of small plates and a shorter column each side. Outside these columns are long plates having a raised central field. Attached to the rows of plates bordering the opening are three large rivets each side that once held fastening straps, traces of leather remaining. Along both shoulders is a short row of plates, whilst the back is made up from five columns of plates. The mail sleeves are short and angled off slightly so that they hang slightly lower over the outside of the arm. There is a short mail skirt that will have reached the upper thigh


Dimensions: The length of the coat from collar to hem is 845 mm, the distance from cuff to cuff is 915 mm, the chest is 490 mm and the waist is 430 mm. Weight: The weight of the coat is 6.95 kg.
