Physical Description

The swept hilt is of bright steel consisting of pommel, straight quillons and a knuckle-guard dividing into three branches and which divides further. The quillons has a triangular écusson at its centre. The wooden grip bound with steel wire, finished in Turk’s Head knots.
The straight tapering blade is of flattened diamond section and is made in two parts, the upper part consisting of a slotted sleeve into which slides the blade proper. The short tang is riveted to the écusson allowing the guard to be slid forward, away from the grip and pommel, extending the length of the blade. A spring catch locks it in the forward position.
