Physical Description

A sword-bladed plug bayonet, comprising a single edged blade tapering to a point. The brass quillon has a shell guard on one side, tapered dark wood grip and rounded brass cap with brass ferrule. One bar of the quillon has broken off. The shell guard appears to be the same pattern used on military hangers of this date. Identified with concentric corrosion, February 2005.
