Physical Description

A large fused block of detritus including at least eleven recognisable lockplates of India Pattern fitted with ring-necked cocks, with no flints. One lock is fused flat to the upper surface of the block and in good condition. Another is similarly fused but with the inner side visible. Four others protrude from the block at various angles.
All locks are blackened from the heat. One lock on the upper edge is loose. Probably from the Grand Storehouse fire of 1841.
