Physical Description

Blade with hatchet point.


Variations, losses, damage, etc: leather covered ribbed wooden grip; leather 'buff-piece' lacking except for small part trapped between blade and hilt.

On blade, on outside, 53 mm from hilt, stamped: crown over 12.On blade, on back, near hilt, stamped: OSBORN/&GUNBY (Osborn & Gunby).On blade, on back, 171.5 mm from hilt, stamped or engraved: a transverse line (not certain if an intentional mark or just damage; comparison with others of this pattern my decide).
