Physical Description

European,grip and pommel probably German. Composite weapon with gilt, cast brass hilt with solid shell-guard.


Single-edged, slightly curved blade; lightly etched and gilt at the forte and inscribed, ' La.....e / Ber.....


Scabbard (now in two pieces) of cardboard with linen and red or crimson velvet with gilt brass chape.
