Physical Description

Steel hilt consisting of a lenticular pommel and tang-button , decorated with acanthus-leaves in relief and scrolls, quillions arched towards the blade decorated with lines and acanthus-leaf scroll-finials, quillion-block decorated with a stylised flower and supporting an oval side-ring decorated with acanthus leaves, bands, dots and scrolls. The grip is expanded in the middle and then tapers sharply towards the pommel. It is covered with black leather spirally bound with a medium twist wire to the mid-point from the quillions and then with a medium herring-bone from the mid-point to the pommel. There is a steel ferrule at each end of the grip.
Straight, double-edged, spear-pointed blade.
