Physical Description

Hilt: brass; cap pommel with flat tang button; knuckle guard with 2 branches, the centre branch connecting knuckle guard and outer branch diagonally. Small, flat triangular shell guard on inside of hand with flat rear quillon. Wooden grip covered with leather.


Blade: slightly curved, single edged, with single broad fuller.

Inscriptions and Marks

Hilt: stamped with crown over '13' and crown over 'J' on knuckle guard and Rotunda number on quillon.Blade: stamped with crown over 'B' on inside of blade, repeated on outside of blade along with crown over 'J'.
