Physical Description

It has a raised neck, a medial ridge and a narrow flange at the waist. At either arm is a mushroom-headed stud for the shoulder straps. The neck and arm edges have plain inward turns. There is a proof mark near the right arm. The exterior is planished and almost bright. At either shoulder is a large suspension hole. The left shoulder is repaired with a small patch secured by two rivets.

Inscriptions and Marks

Stamped at the neck with pearled A, helmeted A of the Armourers' Company used in the Commonwealth period, and cross of St George. At the left arm near the shoulder is possibly a large circular mark, running off the edge.
