Physical Description

It is made in two pieces joined in a low comb and with a broad brim. The main edge has a plain inward turn with a recessed border containing 33 brass round-headed lining rivets with square washers. The sides of the skull are decorated with a D formed of double incised lines, and the based of the skull is bordered by 20 brass rivets of which 3 are missing, and one of which retains its square washer for the cheekpiece leather. At the rear is a plain plume holder. The surface is bright. There is a suspension hole at the front, a crack in the edge at the right rear.
