Physical Description

The steel hilt comprisies of an oblate, spherical pommel with pronounced tang button and the modern grip is steel wire bound. The; knuckle-bow with a bead-like feature near its centre and two short quillons which each divide and curve outwards to pairs of chased lobate terminals. The flat cup-guard is shallow and the upper edges, in effect, cusped. The elements of the hilt are chiselled with foliate patterns, 'Ionic' scrolls and ostrich-feathe plume flourishes or panaches.

The straight blade is of flattened diamond cross-section and has a ricasso.
