Physical Description

Stated to be similar to IX.25 (check), the quillons and guard filed in a roped pattern, the pommel and terminals with a scallop shell design. A mark inlaid in brass on the blade. Straight, double-edged blade tapering slightly to spear tip. Shallow central fuller; blade of flattened oval section.

Compare with IX.25 (on loan to Hampton Court Palace). The inventory binder includes a handwritten note which says that there there is a similar sword at Hampton Court - it is likely that this was IX.25.
