Physical Description

with brim slightly downturned in front and slightly upturned at the back. The surface is etched with 'Pisan' style ornament divided into wide bands and compartments by narrow bands of cable pattern. The central band on the left side includes the figure of a classical horseman probably intended to represent Marcus Curtius. At the top of this band is a contempory repair in the form of a strip of metal set in and riveted in place.
