Purchased January 1956. From the Armoury of the Earls of Pembroke, Wilton House.

Physical Description

For the left leg, pair to III.1313. The tasset is of 14 lames, the upper one deep, with a keyhole slot towards the outside, a modern strap at the centre with an adjacent hole for the original strap, and a transverse embossed rib below which is a line of decorative rivets. The lames are articulated by sliding rivets at the outside, and modern leathers at the centre and inside. The deep lowest lame of the tasset is decorated with a P in rivets. The poleyn is of five lames, with a modern strap and buckle on the main plate.
