Re-accessioned from Middle Flint Tower, 1987. Probably from one of the armours formerly on loan 7 to Dover Castle (II.53-62) from Malta, 1826.

Physical Description

Pair to III.2531 A short upper plate with a locking pin is linked by a turner to a tubular upper cannon, couter of four lames and two part lower cannon. The inside of the elbow is protected by a series of twelve lames. the upper cannon is decorated with six groups of paired recessed lines. The couter is decorated with a pattern of recessed lines. The external edges of the plates are decorated roped turns, and the internal edges with scalloping and double incised lines.
