Physical Description

Blade is straight, double edged and of flat section. The socket is stout with z-shaped locking slot and reinforcing ring at the base. At the junction of the blade and socket, quillons of copper alloy with short langets extending over the base of the blade and socket, are secured by screws. The screws themselves are modern replacements. the quilons are a later addition, converting the bayonet into a sword.
