Purchased at auction from Thomas Del Mar Ltd., on 27th June 2012. Arms, Armour & Militaria sale, lot 24. Private collection in Scandanavia, bought in by a London dealer.

Physical Description

formed of two large shaped panels of tooled leather, the inner face with two loops, a steel buckle ans staple and a leather thong for suspension, the outer retaining some painted decoration, the border studded with brass nails over silver foliate washers, fitted with five large low domed steel bosses decorated with gold-damascened scrollwork on the outer face, and with a single arrow.
