Physical Description

A smoothbore military carbine designed and manufactured by Durs Egg, using Giuseppe Crespi's breech-loading system. These carbines were designed to accept a long, leaf-bladed bayonet which can be inverted and stored attached to the firearm - the point sits in a cupped extension of the trigger guard. Two barrel bands with no nosecap, owing to the expectance of a stored bayonet. The breech block contains the chamber and pivots into position and is locked by a lug which serves as the stem of an operating handle - this locks into a protrusion on top of the gun. The lock is a typical 'flat' type with an engraved border and swan-necked cock. A bar and loop are on the left for cavalry use.
