Re-accessioned from Middle Flint Tower, 1987. Probably from one of the armours formerly on loan 7 to Dover Castle (II.53-62) from Malta, 1826.

Physical Description

Retaining its finger-defences and part of its thumb-defence. The turned edge of the cuff is bordered by fifteen lining rivets. the cuff is decorated with seven bands of incised lines and punched dots, three of which continue down the six metacarple plates.

Inscriptions and Marks

The first to fifth metacarple plates are marked successively, with 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 V-shaped notches.
