Re-accessioned from Middle Flint Tower, 1987. Probably from one of the armours formerly on loan 7 to Dover Castle (II.53-62) from Malta, 1826.

Physical Description

Formed of a cuff, four metacarpal plates, a knuckle plate and a three piece thumb defence, possibly repalced. The ede of the cuff is decorated with aroped turn.

Inscriptions and Marks

The cuff is marked III at its inside, and I at the wrist. the insides of the metacarple plaes are marked, successively , II, III, IIII, V. Al are marked with three V-shaped notches.
