Re-accessioned from Middle Flint Tower, 1987. Probably from one of the armours formerly on loan 7 to Dover Castle (II.53-62) from Malta, 1826.

Physical Description

Formed of a cuff, linked by four metacarpal plates through a roped knuckle-plate to four finger-defences and a thumb defence. The edge of the cuff is decorated with a roped turn accompanied by a recessed border and raised rib. The recessed border is furnished with thirteen rivets. The metacarple plates are decorated with single incised lines. The cuff is damaged.

the insides of the first, second, third and fourth metacarple plates are marked, respectively V,IIII, III and II.
