Donated on 4th july 2013. The group of portraits came to the Willis family from the Taylor family of Ongar. Charlotte Willis's grandfather's first wife, Charlotte Mary Taylor, was the great granddaughter of Mary Forrest and Charles Taylor. Mary Forrest - the niece of Cornelius Humpreys -married her uncle's friend, Charles Taylor (1756-1823) artist, engraver and author, in 1777. Prior to this she lived with her aunt and uncle in the Tower of London.
