Physical Description

Of tortoiseshell, curved and tapered to the shape of the forearm, edged with silver, engraved with a leaf design. At the lower straight end a silver shield bears an unidentified, probably continental, coat of arms. The upper pointed end bears another shield with the arms of a Guild of St. Sebastian in the Low Countries. Two side pieces bear respectively the initials J and H (or HJ)
