Physical Description

The hilt is formed of a small copper alloy pommel of wheel form. The cross, also of copper alloy, has slayed, flaring terminals. Both inner and outer faces of the terminals of the cross are decorated with scrollwork and two 'Babewyns'and a dragon-like beast, within rondels.On the outer face the decoration appears to have been inlaid in iron, whilst on the inner face ore crudely engraved.
The short double-edged blade bears afuller for most of its length and it terminates in a point.
