Purchased 22 June 2004 from Andrew Lumley. From the collection of Prof Paul Post (1882-1956), curator of the Berlin Zeughaus, formed in Berlin after World War I. (information from A.Lumley).

Physical Description

Of iron, with broad sides of D section curved under the wearer's ankle and widening to form a crest at the rear, where there is a straight round section neck divided into a rowel box holding a medium size eight pointed star rowel. At the end of either side is a figure 8 terminal, retaining at the left a large double loop buckle with buckle pin. The surface is leaden and pitted, as if treated with a proprietory rust removed such as Genolite.
