Purchased 22 June 2004 from Andrew Lumley. From the collection of Prof Paul Post (1882-1956), curator of the Berlin Zeughaus, formed in Berlin after World War I (information from A.Lumley).

Physical Description

Of iron, with long, curved sides of oval section, and a short round section neck with a large conical goad. Underneathe the neck is a small raised V-shaped moulding. At the end of either side is a flattened terminal pierced with a vertical rectangular slot. The outer sides of the terminals are decorated with diagonal filed lines. The surface is patinated dark brown.
