Purchased 22 June 2004 from Andrew Lumley. From the collection of Prof Paul Post (1882-1956), curator of the Berlin Zeughaus, formed in Berlin after World War I (information from A.Lumley).

Physical Description

Of iron, this has slightly curved sides of flattened oval section, a very short round section neck and a large pyramidal goad. At the end of the inner side is a horizontally flattened terminal pierced with a rectangular slot, and at the outer end a figure 8 terminal with two rivets. The surface is patinated dark brown.
