Provenance

First registered 25 June 2004 following return from loan to the Australian War Memorial [museum] (reg. no. OL00378.038), being the remains of one of the Loans to the Dominions, sent out in 1921. Tower arsenal.

Physical Description

For the left hand, it comprises a single cuff only. It has a slight angle and flange at the elbow and has a riveted seam at the inside. The upper main edge has a plain inward turn bordered by nine lining rivet holes and a single incised line. The lower main edge is concave, with a flattened outward turn. At either end is a rivet hole for the metacarpal lames. The exterior is painted black. There is an additional rivet hole and a rusted hole at the cuff, and two rivet holes for the thumb leather at the front of the wrist.
