Provenance

First registered 25 June 2004 following return from loan to the Australian War Memorial [museum] (reg. no. 5568.002), being the remains of one of the Loans to the Dominions, sent out in 1921.

Physical Description

For the left hand, it comprises a cuff only. It has an angle at the elbow and a riveted seam at the inside. The upper main edge has a plain inward turn bordered by a sinle incised line and twelve lining rivets retaining the original leather lining band to which the cuff of the glove is sewn, a buff leather tab slotted to attach to a button. The lower main edge is concave, with a flattened outward turn bordered by four flush rivets retaining a leather lining band, and a sinlgle incised line. At either end is a rivet for the metecarpal lames. The exterior is painted black, but the coarsely filed surface is visible underneath.
