Provenance

First registered 25 June 2004 following return from loan to the Australian War Memorial [museum] (reg. no. 5568.001), being the remains of one of the Loans to the Dominions, sent out in 1921. Tower arsenal.

Physical Description

For the left hand, it comprises a single cuff only. It has a slight curve round the elbow and has a riveted seam at the inside. The upper main edge has a plain inward turn bordered by thirteen lining rivets with square washers retaining the original leather lining band and a single incised line. The lower main edge is concave, with a flattened outward turn bordered by four flush rivets retaining a leather lining band, and a sinlgle incised line. At either end is a rivet hole for the metecarpal lames. The exterior is painted black.
