Physical Description

A standard Winchester rifle, with heavy target barrel, Mauser type bolt-action and half stock in American walnut.The barrel and action are blued. The left side of the receiver shows signs of having been fitted with Griffin and Howe style mounts, although these have been removed. The top of the receiver has a Redfield mount fitted, to which the Lyman telescopic sight has been attached by means of ring and double screw retaining clamps. The scope and mounts are blued. Trigger, triggerguard and magazine floorplate are also blued.

Receiver: 228829 WINCHESTER ARMS COMPANY MODEL 70 On the upper left side of the breech is engraved in electric pencil: U..PROPERTY. The scope is also engraved with the serial number of the rifle.
