Physical Description

Consists of two parts: the gauge itself is a plug gauge, having a cyclindrical and knurled handle at one end and at the other a cyclindrical portion ground to the exact size and profile of a 12 bore chamber of 2.5ins length. Between the handle portion and the gauge proper is a short, plain cylindrical section.
The second part is a protector for the gauge, being a cylinder having formed within it an exact replica of the chamber of a 12 bore gun and into which the gauge is inserted

One both parts, flats are formed on the cylidrical surface and which are stamped 12 BORE and 2 1/2 CHAMBER
