Physical Description

Comprises a brass sheet, with finger slots at each end, stamped 'SPANISH REMINGTON' and to which are soldered components representing the various stages in the manufacture of the cartridge.
Case manufacture is shown using 15 components:


1 & 2. brass disc and the initial cup formed from it
3. first stage in drawing the cup into a closed tube
4 & 5. further drawing to increase length and reduce wall thickness
6. tube trimmed to length and 1st indent of cap chamber formed
7. head reinforcing cup inserted and further drawing to increase length and reduce wall thickness
8. final drawing
9. trimmed to length
10. heading, in which the case flange is formed and the cap chamber brought to correct form with the with the head reinforcing cup in place
11. 2 fireholes pierced in chamber (Berdan form)
12. trimmed to length
after 13. neck formed
14. bullet and cap inserted


The manufacture of the head reinforcing cup is represented by 4 items:
1 & 2. brass disc and a cup formed from it
3. the cup indented preparatory to its fitting into the indented case (see 7 above)
4. item 3 inverted to show the bottom.


Manufacture of the primer is represented by a sample brass disc and one of these discs formed into the cap.


The final item on the display is a sample bullet.
