Physical Description

Hilt comprising grip of two staghorn scales secured by three brass rivets. Flat crossguard of oval shape (which extends further beyond the back edge of the blade than the front) is of nickel silver.


Single-edged blade with spear point and slight false edge running backwards from the point for approximately 1/3 of its length.


Scabbard of wood covered with black leather which is now much worn, with a single stiched seam running down the centre of the inside face. Nickel silver fittings comprise a mouthpiece with cusped lower edge, single screw and belt loop. Shoe secured by single screw with cusped upper edge and ball finial.
