Purchased at auction from Christies, South Kensington, 12th July 2000, lot 328 (joint lot also included a handgun (XXVIF.232 and a medieval lance head (VII.4119). Ex. Howard Blackmore Collection.

Physical Description

With narrow curved beak-like fluke formed like a dagger blade of flattened diamond section, the base shaped, pierced and gold damascened, cubical damascened socket and rudimentary hammer formed as a small figure of am elephant.
