Physical Description

The barrel is fitted with an altered firing mechanism and was intended to be used on a cone deck mount. This mount accompanies the gun but was damaged by the salvors. Originally part of the cargo of the SS Namur, a merchant ship sunk in the Meditteranean sea in 1916. The gun barrel is in relatively good condition, although the brass indicator is bent and the breech operating lever grip has disappeared. Along the upper surface of the recuperator there are several dents.
