Physical Description

A mahogany box lined in green baize and divided into two compartments. Each compartment contains a japanned tin canister with a brass detachable nozzle and a brass folding handle. On one side of each canister is written in gold letters GUNPOWDER.
In the lid of the box is pasted a trade label belonging to John Manton & Son. with the No.6 Dover Street address. (about 1824-1844). The lock escutchion is made of bone and the furniture is of brass. On the lid is a flush fitting circular carrying handle
