Physical Description

The Brass hilt which retain traces of gilding, consists of a pommel, knuckle-guard, quillons and boat-shaped shell. Wooden grip bound with silver wire.
A straight, single-edged blade, etched, blued and gilt at the forte with trophies, foliage, the Royal Arms as borne by George III from 1801 to 1816 and the crowned cipher GR. On the back is inscribed the maker’s name J J Runkel, Solingen. Accompanied by a steel scabbard
