Physical Description

A sleaveless waistcoat made from a double thickness of D.P.M. material with access to the space between the layers of cloth via a large opening into the inside of the back of the garment closed with Velcro. The garment opens down the front with a double flap closed with Velcro and one snap stud at the neck. Two external pockets are positioned off centre front and back to the left so that they cover the heart region. The fit of the garment is adjusted by two webbing staps at each side passing through plastic loops and secured with Velcro. A loop of webbing is attached to the front of the garment and a piece of webbing with a male quick release fastener and a plastic loop is attached to the back.

Inscriptions and Marks

A label is stiched into the back near the neack opening recording the name of the garment, its pattern numbers, its size (180 height/104 chest), washing instructions and the fact that it was made by Dashmore Clothing Limited.Two standard sealed pattern labels for pattern 24954 are attached with string and a lead seal. These record the specification number SCRD/PD6/92 and NATO stock number 8470-99-978-9251-9256, an ammendment refering to stiching and three issues (two in 1993 and one in 1994).
