On hilt, above rear quillon: '6.99' over 2.R.H' over '8'.On inside of blade: '.87'; crown over 'BR' over '78' (the 7 uncertain); crown over '18' (the 8 uncertain); ''99'; crown over 'BR'; a crested helmet (the mark of Kirschbaum of Solingen).On outside of blade: 'broad arrow'; 'X'.
