Notes

Has some similarities to Royal Armouries Infantry Type 51, but is not of that type. For a similar hilt, but with two loop-guards outside the hand, see G.C. Neumann, 'Swords & Blades of the American Revolution', Newton Abbot, 1973, p.68, No.20.S.
Erik Gold visited 13.10.1993 and commented that he had an identical sword with the same crown over 4 mark on the blade. (He calls these grips the 'Stack of doughnuts' type.)
