Physical Description

Similar to XII.1254/XII.1255 but with simpler decoration. The barrel is slightly flared with 3 “V” shaped flutes coming towards the breech. Locks with slightly domed, steel wheel casings. The lockplates bear traces if the original blued finish. Stocks similar to XII.1256/7 in form and inlaid decoration but without the glit brass enrichments. The stag horn plaques by the breechstraps are engraved with the arms of Saxony. The stock makers initials appear to be I Z.
