Provenance

Possibly Old Tower Collection. Found in a box in the Bowyer Tower. This may have been part of a large group removed from Littlecote before and after its purchase by the Royal Armouries.

Physical Description

Of blunted elongated triangular form. The main edges have heavy partial inward turns bordered by five domed headed rivets. Across the top are two rivets, for articulation to the skull, retaining fragments of the mounting leathers. The right side is cracked above the central rivet.
